Growing Up

Growing Up

1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV)

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

~Prayer~

"Lord God, help me to put away childish words, attitudes and actions. May your Holy Spirit empower me this day.....~Amen~

~Something To Ponder~

Think of any tense times you've had with your  mate recently. Can you detect in your own attitude and any childish ways? What steps can you take to help your own children mature?

Broken To Be Mended

Broken To Be Mended

Psalm 34:17-18 (NKJV)

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

~Prayer~

Express these needs to God in prayer. Confess your own helplessness in dealing with them and your total trust in God's power to render aid.

~Something To Ponder On~

List the most urgent needs and problems you face right now. Have you found yourself grimly relying on your own inadequate strength to overcome them?

~Something To Ponder~

Why You Need The Holy Spirit (Pt. 2)

Why We Need The Holy Spirit (Pt. 2)

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

~Prayer~

That the Holy Spirit would give you not only an understanding of your unique roles and responsibilities in marriage or relationships, but also the ability to subject your lives to each other.

~Something To Ponder~
What evidence could you as a husband, present to show that you consistently love your wife as Christ loves the Church? What evidence would you as a wife present to show that you are being submissive to your husband?

Prayer that God would help you learn how to allow the Holy Spirit to control your lives....~Amen~

~Something To Ponder~

Think back over your married life and family. How has the Holy Spirit been a Counselor, Advisor, Advocate, Defender, Director  and Guide?

A Confrontation Rewarded with Evangelist Anita Hewitt

A Confrontation
Rewarded

Nehemiah 1:9 (NKJV)

but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name....

5 Basic Principles:

1. He took time to prayer (Neh. 1:4-10, 2:4)
2. Nehemiah expressed loyalty, encouragement and support. (2:3)
3. Nehemiah was truthful
4. Nehemiah had an attitude of submission
5. Nehemiah was specific in his request

~ Prayer~

That God will help you balance personal honesty with sensitivity to others.

~ Something To Ponder ~

Think about past confrontations. Which of the  principles above could have helped you?

Woman 2 Woman Words of Honey

Woman 2 Woman
Let us not be like this:
Proverbs 21:19 (KJV)
It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
 Let us be like This:
 Proverbs 16:24 (KJV)
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
